Who we are
Professor Timo O. Vuori is a strategy consultant and professor at Aalto University. His research on the psychological aspects of strategic management has received significant international recognition. He has taught and presented his research at leading universities worldwide, including Harvard and INSEAD.
Timo's research and teaching focus on how organizations formulate and implement strategies. He has co-authored two books on the subject with prominent Finnish leaders. The book “Elävä Strategia”, co-written with Timo Ritakallio, explores the use of scenario-based strategy work in an ever-changing world. The book “Platform Strategy”, co-written with Tero Ojanperä, describes how established organizations can reinvent themselves in the era of platform economies. Both books address “hard” factors, such as technology and business models, as well as “soft” factors, such as people and emotions, that influence strategic renewal.
Timo actively collaborates with companies. He assists clients in creating and evaluating multiple strategic options and helps leaders think creatively and effectively by using advanced psychological techniques. In strategy implementation projects, Timo helps organizations understand the psychological impacts of strategy implementation on the organization. Understanding these impacts enables companies to execute their strategies more effectively.
Suvi-Tuuli Vuori is an organizational researcher and consultant who is passionate about placing people and their understanding—and ultimately their well-being—at the core of strategy work. She believes that truly successful strategies emerge when they are built around the needs, emotions, and aspirations of the individuals who bring them to life.
She completed her PhD at Aalto University, where her research explored the impact of organizational practices on the emotions of leaders and employees, and how these emotions drive actions. During her doctoral studies, Suvi-Tuuli spent one semester as a visiting scholar at Stanford University.
Her dissertation articles have earned awards for excellence among the world’s best PhD students at prestigious international conferences, including the Strategic Management Society and the Academy of Management Annual Meeting. Her passion for conducting high-quality research was evident even during her Master’s thesis, where she explored the relationship between stress, recovery, and work engagement among business leaders. This work won the HENRY Award for the best Master’s thesis of the year in 2013.
Suvi-Tuuli collaborates with Finland’s leading strategy consulting firm, August Associates, focusing on bringing people to the heart of strategy work.
As a passionate athlete, Suvi-Tuuli’s childhood and teenage identity were deeply shaped by aesthetic group gymnastics, in which she won multiple Finnish championships. Currently, she engages in triathlon and dance.
